oral exam

Today was my oral mid-term exam. I was so nervous that I couldn’t sleep well last night. The topic is that to describe the last day before I leave Taiwan if I go abroad for 3 years and never come back during that time. Of course, I will say good-bye to my family and friends first. And also say good-bye to my pets, 3 little birds. Bring their pictures with me. Next, go to the supermarket to buy some daily stuff which is hardly to buy and use in foreign countries. Probably I won’t sleep all night. I’ll pack my luggage until making sure that I already brought everything I need. Bring a good camera with me is also very important, so that I can record everything that happened on my trip or study. Anyway, after finishing this exam, I felt relieved and went back to sleep again.

"Today was my oral mid-term exam." I wonder what this means. Are you talking about a conversation class mid-term? The normal meaning of an "oral exam" is either one in which a dentist looks into your mouth to check your teeth or a bunch of your professors quiz you on the topic of your PhD dissertation.

MISUSAGE: "which is hardly to buy and use in foreign countries." The correct phrase is hard to buy. You can use whatever you can buy and whatever you bring, so there's no reason to add and use: it's illogical. I think you'll find that there is very little everyday stuff that you cannot buy in most foreign countries. You might not be able to find the same specific brands, but that should hardly matter.

"Bring a good camera" should be "Bringing a good camera".

And "so that I can record everything that happened on my trip" should be "so that I can record everything that happens on my trip". You have to be consistent with VERB TENSE.

Sounds like a boring exam to me. I just can't bring myself to think about stuff that I know isn't going to happen. It's a waste of time, I think. If I had to leave Taiwan for the next three years, I'd take a few books, my camera, my computer software, and a couple of hard disk drives for a laptop and a desktop PC. I'd bring a few pieces of necessary clothing: underwear, socks, T-shirts, blue jeans, and shoes. Everything else I'd buy in the new place. But I'd hate it. I don't like traveling these days. And I don't like trips away from home.
